Violin and Cello Duo (F)
Tuesday, October 11th, 2011The string duo is a versatile, professional ensemble comprising violin & ‘cello who are available to play for a wide variety of functions including weddings, wedding receptions, private parties, corporate events & grand openings. We have an extensive Classical repertoire list and are also available to play in Celtic style as background music for events such as Burns Night, St Patrick’s Day or St Andrews Day dinners. This duo is perfect for background music at drinks receptions and dinners, but also for themed Celtic Style dinners. Brilliant!
The players graduated from prestigious London Music Colleges, where they were prize winners. They have extensive experience playing with the major British orchestras as well as for corporate and private events.
Put together two talented siblings who play violin and cello; add their unique classical talents combined with their love of folk and you get a great evenings entertainment! They will play the well loved classics along with crossover. However, if you are looking for folky type music for a Ceilidh, or St Patrick’s Day meal – this duo is for you! The cellist will even bring out his bag of folk wind instruments to create a great sound. Perfect for weddings, drinks receptions, background music, St Patrick’s Day, Burns Night and dinners.

This string quartet is a vibrant, quartet based in London. They have a wide range of musical styles available for clients and are perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions; Gala dinners, drinks receptions, and balls.
As individuals, the quartet have worked extensively both at home and abroad with a number of orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, British Youth Opera, Amadeus Chorus and Orchestra (with Steven Isserlis), Britten Pears Orchestra, Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra and National Musicians Symphony Orchestra. “I booked Isobel to play the cello at my wedding in December 2009. She played before and at the civil ceremony.
Isobel is a very accomplished cellist and has a wide repertoire. She knew what she was doing and was entirely open to ideas with no fixed mindset of what was ‘the right thing’, yet gave me suggestions where I needed. She didn’t rush me over choices and was happy to play a piece again and again. She even suggested that I have a little practice with the ‘walk’ to ensure appropriate timing.
Isobel is extremely professional and from day one she inspired confidence. She always kept in communication before the day and returned my calls if I left a message. She paid attention to detail and asked about the dress code. She fitted in well with the hotel staff and guests. Her appearance is good and she was at the venue in plenty of time.
She is intelligent and can play to fill the ‘awkward spaces’ left at times, e.g while waiting for the bride and during the signing. She didn’t just play one piece and then sit in silence.

Our excellent String Trio play a mixture of classical, crossover, jazz arrangements and well known music theatre pieces for fantastic background music. They are perfect for weddings, receptions (inside and outside), background music for dinners and at balls. A slightly more economical version of a string quartet, the trio is perfect for smaller venues.

This Quartet is a vibrant all-female string quartet based in London that combines youthful flair with enthusiasm and professionalism. Adaptable and reliable, they will provide a friendly and efficient service for you both prior to, and on the day of your function. They will either provide outstanding background music for your event, or, if required, they play on electric instruments: delivering a stunning After Dinner Entertainment cabaret.
