Mother’s Day – create the right ambience

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Mothering Sunday is on 18th March. In terms of bringing the family together, it is a great excuse for meeting at a hotel, restaurant or special venue (eg a National Trust venue).

From an entertainment point of view, we always believe the mother’s tastes should be taken into account AND since it is going to be a family gathering and people will be chatting,  it is important to choose the right entertainment – and volume levels. Here are some ideas.

  • A singer, or singers to perform songs as background rather than ‘feature’. The songs create a good ambience and could be romantic/favourite songs over a period of time.
  • A gorgeous acoustic guitarist (male) for the mother to enjoy watching him (well it’s her day!) as well as enjoying listening to the music.
  • A harpist; it is one of those instruments that creates such a romantic atmosphere and all mothers LOVE romance!
  • A pianist (male of course) to play a range of background music, favourite songs and who would take requests.
  • A small jazz/cover band to play well known songs.
